The “MAMU UNIJA” Foundation was established in 2008 by photographer Eglė Mielinauskienė, who currently serves as its president. Volunteers actively participate in the foundation’s activities. Eglė herself has experienced oncological illness, so she deeply understands how challenging such a diagnosis is for a child and their family.

The foundation provides comprehensive support to children in Lithuania suffering from oncological diseases, as well as to their families. It cooperates with the country’s leading pediatric oncohematology departments, helps improve hospital environments, purchases necessary equipment, and organizes training for medical staff.

The foundation offers financial support by purchasing medications not covered by the state, funding examinations and treatment in Lithuania and abroad, and supplying children with care products. In hospitals, it organizes creative and therapeutic activities for children and their parents, fulfills young patients’ dreams, and provides informational and emotional support to families.

In addition, the foundation works to change public attitudes — promoting tolerance and developing a culture of assistance and solidarity. Since 2009, the foundation has provided support totaling more than €667,000.

We invite our guests to join the initiative, and we encourage artists to donate one of their works free of charge in order to thank everyone who contributes more than €25 to support the children.
